Mediation
Mediation is a collaborative process where a neutral third-party – the mediator – helps individuals or groups in conflict reach a mutually agreeable solution. Unlike court processes, mediation is voluntary, confidential, and allows parties to maintain control over the outcome.
Types of Mediation Offered:
- Workplace Mediation: We focus on resolving conflicts between employees, managers, and/or departments to help improve workplace relationships, address grievances, and create a more harmonious working environment.
- Restorative Justice Mediation: By bringing together those harmed with those that caused the harm, we help find a path to healing and resolution. This approach is particularly useful in community disputes, teacher-student disputes, parents-child disputes for creating safe, listening and healing spaces for bringing about accountability and deeper understanding.
Benefits of Mediation:
- Cost-effective: Mediation is typically less expensive than going to court.
- Time-efficient: Disputes can often be resolved in a few sessions, compared to the lengthy litigation process.
- Confidentiality: Unlike court proceedings, which are public, mediation sessions are private.
- Control over the Outcome: The parties involved work together to create a solution, ensuring that the final agreement reflects their needs and priorities.
- Improved Relationships: Mediation encourages collaboration and open communication, which can help preserve or improve relationships.
- Less Stressful: Mediation is less adversarial and focuses on finding common ground, which reduces emotional stress compared to courtroom battles.
