A published author, frequent public speaker and Certified Mediator (C.Med), Suzanne has been working with teams and leaders in the areas of Effective Communication, Conflict Resolution, and Gender Diversity for more than 25 years. She is dedicated to bringing clarity to difficult situations through deepening peoples’ understanding of communication barriers.
Suzanne has spoken at numerous conferences on the topics of ‘The Neuroscience of Conflict,’ and ‘Gender Diversity in the Workplace.’ Active in her professional industry, she was the Chair of the Workplace Section at the Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario (ADRIO) for five years, the lead of the Canadian Chapter of Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI) for two years, and now heads up the International Gender-Based Issues Project at MBBI. Suzanne is also active in the international arena. In 2020, she founded a not-for-profit organization in Malawi, Africa called, ‘The African Harmony Collective’ dedicated to reducing gender-based violence.
Suzanne has recently published her first book: ‘When Gender is in Question: A Guide to Understanding’. She was inspired to write it when her youngest child transitioned from female to male, and it became clear that there was a significant gap in the public’s understanding of the topic of the spectrum of gender diversity. She and her son, Skyler are on track to publish a follow-up book.
A graduate of Queen’s and York University in Sociolinguistics, Suzanne holds an Executive Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) from the University of Windsor, a certificate in Adult Training and Education, a coaching certification in Conflict Management Coaching, and is a Master Trainer in Neuro-linguistics Programming (NLP). She has also achieved Certified Mediator status with the ADR Institute of Ontario. Suzanne rides a Harley to keep her balance in mind, body, and spirit.
